It sounds like you dislocated it but you need to go to your Dr. in the next few days to make sure you havent done any injury to your muscles , ligaments, tendons, etc. when you dislocated it.

Q. How can i tell if my pinky finger is broken?
i bent my pinky finger yesterday and i cant tell if it is broken or sprained. the bend is at the top joint. if i dont hold it my pinky will bend forward on its own. it does not hurt to bend my pinky back but it will not stay straight on its own. however it does hurt to curl my pinky but it is doable. the pinky is not swollen or discolored, any ideas?

That happened to me a few months ago. You could have fractured it like I did. I had to wear one of those metal splints with foam inside for 2 weeks. However, it's more likely that you just sprained a tendon. You should put ice on it for 10 minute intervals for 1-2 hours. You probably shouldn't use it unless you have to. If you do have to use it, I would recommend taping it to another finger with medical tape. If it still hurts after a few days, go to the doctor because you probably fractured it or badly sprained it, and it may not heal correctly. Hope that helps!

Why did the doctor remove the rod so soon? I would ask for an appointment to see the surgeon. Be sure to tell the receptionist you recently had surgery and are not having this problem. It could be a tendon problem. It needs to be checked out. I would move your finger open and closed to prevent it from developing a contracture. If it hurts to do that, go to see a doctor today.

Q. How to repail a broken finger nail?
today at work i bent back my finger nail ( real nails, not fake) less then half way. i dont want to cut it all the way back because it hurts to much. is there any way i can repair it?

There's no true way 2 repair a nail that is already broken. Now you can spend the money and buy nail glue (for real nails) at the beauty stores but they really don't work. It would be cheaper to buy super glue, it has the same effect and it's cheaper. These are just temporary fixes and will end up breaking with the first tap. If it broke where skin it. Then I would just recommend putting a band aid over it 4 a couple of days until you can get it off with a minimal amount of pain. Good luck.
