It is not defined. You need one of the diagonals, too. Think of four metal rods of the given lengths, jointed at the corners. It is not rigid, so it could take many different shapes with different areas. The least areas are when one of the joints is nearly straight, and all of them would fit the measurements you have taken. If you measure one diagonal, dividing the lot into two triangles, you can get the area of each triangle with Heron's formula - a triangle with sides a, b and c has area sqrt(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)), where s is the semi-perimeter (a+b+c)/2.

I'm a bit confused. Are you saying this field is a quadrilateral with sides of the given lengths? You don't have enough information to find the area, because there are infinitely many different configurations of these sides. Suppose you were told all four sides were 10 m. It could be a square with area 100 m^2, or it could be a parallelogram with angles of 30 degrees and 150 degrees, giving it half the height of the square and an area of 50 m^2. Similarly, without knowing at least one angle in this quadrilateral, it could have any area between a maximum and a minimum, that could theoretically be calculated, but is probably not what the problem intends. Is there a graphic that accompanies this problem and gives extra information? If you mean that there are four different fields with the given lengths, you would need to know the width of the field, and then the area of the field is just area = width x length.
