You may be correct, but the best you can do it to pay off now, and then when you know when your FICA is updated, then get the record of it and apply. This is like pushing on a string. You won't get anywhere. The credit bureaus are not equipped to respond to each and every phone call, except in the case of fraud or stolen credit or stolen ATM cards.

You should get a big increase. A big part of your score is the ratio of revolving debt to available limit. Paying off balances decreases the percentage of debt. Carrying balances of 30% or more hurts your score. Paying the balances down is the fastest way to increase your score.

i currently paid 4 (the only 4) debts off on my credit report. one for 1,885, one for 218, 181 and 439. two were on there for about a year and the other 2 were on there for about 2 years! When you pay old debt, it becomes a current transaction and counts more in your score calculation, including the negatives. You should have ask for a delete for pay for those random debts. Too late now. Those items will stay for the balance of the 7-1/2 years from the date of first deficiency. Creditors do look at more than your score. Paid old debt always looks better.

My own goes up and down 2pts, then jump 10....it also depends on whose pulling the report.....enquiries will also bring the score down .......I don't allow anyone to pull my credit, no matter how much the beg, plea and lie that it will not hurt "your score"......they lie. You have a professional credit company "bah humbug" they may be the cause to collect more more and you can do it yourself! It takes about 6 months to a year to get a higher score, just don't get any deragotories! and keep your debt on your credit cards less than half and pay them about 2 weeks in advance..............weird but this is what they look at.
