Joan,  This is a open question.   A bid price would be based on the boat, boat terms and condition, and what you want to do with the boat.   Is the pleasure or commercial.   What size of boat are you looking at.   Where is the repo.   Has there been a survey of the boat. What mantenance has been made on the boat.   Where are you going to store the boat.   Do you need moorage.   Do you need open or covered moorage.   Are you planning to live-aboard.   Is it power or sail.   If sail, what condition are the sails. What about instruments (radar, gps, radios, etc)  If power boat then what type of engines (diesel or gas) how many hours on engines, what type of transmissions. What type of material is the boat made from (wood or fiberglass).   Have you looked into the Buc Book (blue book for boats)  Are there any other liens on the boat (mechanic liens  generally follow the boat as do moorage liens). Texas has a lot of auction houses but not necessarily related to boats or marine assets. I highly recommend www.boatauctionsdirect.com as they pull listings from any state in a well thought out and organized fashion. It`s not anything like some of these `car-auction` sites that claim to offer boats for $100 either!

I would like to see response from an individual who has purchased a repo boat. The original question was, "how much should I bid for a repo boat?".. Is it normal for bids of 40% or 50% of the asking price ot be accepted or is there no "normal"? Is there a 10% varience? More? TY!
