Q. If i make $10 an hour, working 40 hours a week, how much will i make monthly after taxes?

the calculation of the taxes is very simple that wheather you make 10$ per hour or you are making 100$ per hour its actually the 23% of your salary that is cut in terms of the paying of your taxes etc so you can pur your figure for the whole month and calculate yourself the taxes cut out from your monthly pay

Q. Mba?????????????????????????????????

"Mba stands for master in business administration..."

MBA stands for Master in Business Administration. MBA is a 2 year post-graduate programme in management. MBA is of 2 types - general MBA and specialised MBA.In general MBA at the end of 1st year you are supposed to choose specialisation in either of the 1 subject - marketing or finance or materials/operations or human resource. Example of specialised MBA is MBA in Biotechnology which is available at the Department of Management Sciences, University of Pune. In specialised MBA like MBA-Biotechnology you are taught all the 4 subjects in much detail i.e marketing, finance, materials/operations and HR that's because your specialisation is Biotechnology. You are specially prepared to lead a Biotech or Pharma company. The advantage is that you can go to any other sector like telecom, IT, Retailing etc. because you have been given detailed knowledge of every field with special focus on Biotechnology. That's the advantage. There is much demand for MBA-Biotechnology in Australia, USA and Europe apart from the one in India. For details on this course visit http://www.microbiologyindia.cjb.net The web-site tells you also on various management entrances like MAT, ATMA, CAT etc.Ranking of colleges along with list of various colleges is also given. You can go for following links that will tell you more about MBA - http://users.cjb.net/microbiologyreview/ect1.htm http://users.cjb.net/microbiologyreview/ect2.htm This web-site offers Free Newsletter on MBA-Biotechnology. It also offers Free guidance/counselling. Prepratory material for GDs and PI for MBA is also provided on this web-site. "The degree master of business administration is not the same as master of science..."

Many people have misconceptions about the MBA degree, thinking that it consists of majors or concentrations that give you in depth training in a specific field. The degree Master of Business Administration is not the same as Master of Science. The MBA is a general broad degree covering a wide variety of business issues and training students for careers in managing any area of business up to CEO. MBA students study accounting, finance, marketing, statistics, management, strategy, policy, leadership and similar courses. The MS is a degree that concentrates study in a specific field, such as finance, accounting, electrical engineering, biology, and chemistry and trains students for careers in high level staff positions often involving research. Many MBA programs offer concentrations, but this usually amounts to 2-3 elective courses in a specific field. Thus an MBA in marketing may amount to a student taking Market Research, Advertising, and Consumer Behavior as a marketing concentration, while a finance concentration may mean courses in Mergers and Acquisitions, Security Analysis, and Intermediate Accounting. In contrast an MS in marketing involves a full year or more of marketing courses with perhaps 2-3 electives in related fields. An MBA student may opt to spread electives over Production, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource Management and other areas in order to broaden his background rather than concentrating in a single area. To answer your question, an MBA would be highly beneficial to someone with your degree and work experience, regardless of the concentration you select, if any. What is more important than a concentration is your choice of school. To find MBA programs that best fit your needs, criteria, and preferences, use a free service called the Official MBA Guide. It lists over 2,000 MBA programs worldwide and provides a lot of valuable information about MBA study.

"Mba general management - dual award and mba entrepreneurship..."

Can I join an MBA programme without a degree? A successfully completed undergraduate degree is one basic requirement on all the MBA programmes at the Berlin School of Economics (FHW). The degree can be from a university or college, a college of applied sciences, a commercial or technical college, or a private institution, providing the qualification obtained in tertiary level study is recognised as the equivalent of a degree. The Berlin School of Economics is a publicly funded college and the MBA programmes offered here are authorised and recognised by the Berlin Senate. This recognition places the college under the Berlin Hochschulgesetz (Berlin University Law - BerlHG ) which specifically requires a first degree as an admission criteria to post-graduate programmes. This basic requirement has to be met and cannot be waived for any other possible equivalent (e.g., a number of years of work experience). Can I join an MBA programme without work experience? Given that the MBA programmes are based on expanding the knowledge and skills acquired at work, there is little sense in starting this course of studies without the requisite work experience. MBA courses stress the link between theory and practice and reflection on one's own experience at work is an integral part of the learning process. Do I have to pay the fees in one lump sum? Fees on our MBA programmes can be paid in three instalments. Are the fees tax deductible? Normally, the fees are fully tax deductible since our MBA programmes qualify as programmes of additional or further training as defined in Paras. 25 and 26 of the Berlin Hochschulgesetz (Berlin University Law - BerlHG ). Are your MBA degrees recognised? The degrees awarded by the Berlin School of Economics to students who successfully complete an MBA programme entitles them to use the internationally recognised degree of “Master of Business Administration” (MBA). This qualification also enables the holder to apply for senior civil service posts. Are the MBA programmes accredited? The MBA European-Asian Programme, the MBA European Management, MBA General Management - Dual Award and MBA Entrepreneurship have been accredited by the internationally recognised quality standard institution FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation). The MBA Health Care Management has been accredited by the Zentrale Evaluations- und Akkreditierungsagentur Hannover (ZEvA), testifying to the programme’s adherence to MBA quality standards. Do I have to do a work placement during the MBA programme? The full-time MBA European-Asian programme has an integral three months work placement phase, giving students a chance to apply in practice the theoretical knowledge they have acquired. The college provides support for the students during the process of applying for a suitable placement. The other MBA programmes do not have a placement phase, although students may opt for a placement and find one on their own initiative. Do I have to attend regularly? Our MBA programmes are structured around required attendance. Regular attendance and active involvement in seminar-style courses forms an essential element on MBA programmes, with learning in and with the group and the direct exchange of experience between students as one central pillar. Can the MBA also be taken as a distance-learning programme? Our MBA programmes are designed around required attendance where learning in and with the group and the direct exchange of experience between students plays a key role in the learning process and, for this reason, they are not offered as distance-learning modules. On part-time MBA programmes, the lectures and seminars are blocked in required attendance phases at times that also allow students from outside Berlin to attend. Does every MBA programme have a Study Visit phase? Part-time MBA programmes have a Study Visit phase built into the curriculum. The Study Visits are to an English-speaking country and are a required part of the course of studies. What is the average age of students on the MBA programmes? On our part-time MBA programmes, the average age of students is 33; on the full-time MBA programmes, the average age is 29 years old. How many international students take part in your MBA programmes? On the full-time MBA European Management programme, the proportion of international students is around 40%; this figure is around 80% on the MBA European-Asian programme. On the part-time programmes the percentage of international students is not as high – around 20% on the MBA General Management – Dual Award, a figure that is somewhat lower on the MBA Entrepreneurship and the MBA Health Care Management programmes. How much work will I have to do outside the classroom? Students are not only expected to actively contribute during required attendance phases but to prepare thoroughly for the courses. On the part-time courses, experience has shown that the time required for coursework prior to and after a particular course usually equals the total number of hours for that course (i.e., if the course is 40 hours in total, the workload outside the classroom might well be another 40 hours). On the full-time courses, the workload outside the classroom usually amounts to roughly 15 hours a week. Clearly, an MBA programme requires a considerable time investment. How can I find accommodation? Full-time MBA students are entitled to apply for rooms in a student hall of residence (one room en-suite apartments or single rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom). Applications are to be made through the Berlin School of Economics. Do I need to take GMAT before I apply? Although a good GMAT score may help support your application, it is not a requirement. When do the courses start? The programmes always begin at the start of the winter semester. The foundation courses start in September. What issues should I address in the letter of motivation? A letter of motivation is designed to offer you the chance to explain, briefly and succinctly, your vocational goals and show how these relate to the MBA qualification. It should not be longer than one standard A4 page and can be either in English or German. On the MBA European-Asian programme, the letter of motivation has to be in English.

Q. What branch of mba is the most suitable for a student with bsc and also msc in engineering?
i've got bsc and msc degree in petroleum engineering with little work experience and have been considering to go for mba. knowing that mba is either for students with business background and/or work experience, what are my options? is msba what i am looking for? aren’t i overqualified since people usually go straight form bsc in engineering to mba? please help me get out of this confusion.

"Some mba programs are designed specifically for new college graduates without work experience..."

You have a lot of misconceptions. The MBA is not for students with business backgrounds. The MBA does not have branches. Students don't go to an MBA program straight from a BSc. The MBA degree was originally created because engineers working for companies were promoted to managerial positions, and often they did not know how to manage, although they were good engineers. Companies needed managers who could understand what the engineers were saying, and managers without engineering degrees often did not understand the engineers and their needs. Business schools responded by creating the MBA degree. It is a general degree designed to train student to enter any area of management. Most MBA programs accept students with any undergraduate degree. Universities don't grant MBA in information systems, or MBA in finance, or MBA in marketing. The MBA is a general degree preparing students for management positions in any level of a business, up to CEO. MBA students study accounting, finance, marketing, management, statistics, economics, strategy, policy, and other courses. Many MBA programs offer concentrations in these and many other fields, but that amounts to only 2-3 courses in your chosen field in the second year of study. Many students avoid a concentration and take a variety of elective subjects to gain a broader background. By the time you finish the first year you'll be able to decide which concentration interests you. The MBA is not like an MS degree that concentrates study in a single field and prepares students for high level staff or research positions. The MS typically requires an undergraduate education in the field in which you want the MS, or a closely related field. A finance major does not get an MS in chemistry, and a chemistry major does not get an MS in accounting. MBA programs accept students in any undergraduate field. They prefer students who do not have a business background because they give you the business training but they cannot provide the broad background that managers should have. I have taught MBA students with degrees in Music, Medicine, Dentistry, Law. Psychology, Political Science, Chemistry, Biology, engineering, and many other fields. Most MBA programs prefer students with 2-3 years work experience after the first degree, but many accept students right out of college if they have good grades and a high GMAT score. Some MBA programs are designed specifically for new college graduates without work experience. MBAs with good grades are in high demand and they command good starting salaries. To find the MBA program that best fits your background, criteria and preferences, a good source of information is the Official MBA Guide, a free public service at http://officialmbaguide.org. You can use it to select programs in specific geographic regions, specific concentrations, or specific types of programs, such as full-time, part-time, executive, distance learning, and accelerated. You can specify criteria that are important to you and get a ranked list of programs that best fit those criteria. From the Guide you can go directly to a school's URL or contact schools by email.

Q. How important is it to earn an mba from a good graduate program ?
i currently attend a large state university which is a decent undergrad university. their graduate program, however; is less than stellar and i've also heard that you are not supposed to do your mba at the same school you did undergrad. so my question is, is it really that important that if you are going to get an mba that it comes from a noted institution? (especially if you are eventually looking for an upper management career)

"It is important to get your mba from a decent graduate school..."

It is important to get your MBA from a decent graduate school. If you are going to spend your money on an education why waste it on a less than par program. I don't think it makes a difference if you get your masters from the same school you got your undergrad at. I just encountered the same type of decision and decided to go somewhere else for my mba degree. It turned out to be a good choice. Good luck with everything! http://www.adelphi.edu/manhattan/business.php

Q. What is the difference between an executive mba program and an mba program?
i am an insurance professional (work as an underwriter) and i would like to go back and get an mba. i have 4 years of work experience and i am currently working on my cpcu designation. i received a bachelor of science in economics with honors from my local state university. i have yet to take the gmat, but all of my practice scores have been around 640-650. could you please tell me the difference between the two and what opportunities they give rise to?

"Executive mba program is for candidates with more than 8 years of experience..."

Executive MBA Program is for candidates with more than 8 years of experience. This program is for people who have already worked in management position or in leadership roles and want to learn the tricks to get into top position. Full time MBA programs are for candidates like you who has an exp ranging from 4-7 years. Don't worry about practice score. Create a schedule for your preparation and follow it religiously. Refer the source for more information. But the most vital question for you is the motivation for an MBA?
