400kbs will result in about 175MB per hour. Mister 1.4 has made the mistake and mixed up kbs with kByte/s. 1Byte equals 8 bit. So 400kbs would be 50kByte/s. Multiply this with 3600 and divide by 1024 (to get to MByte/s and you will end up with roughly 175MByte/hrs

recommendation: new version and older versions of skype vidoe and audio uses in 1 hour about 200 to 250 mgb. I recommend use skype audio for video use windows messenger live , you can cut down your mgb usage to less then half. good luck

1.4Gbits - divide by 8 to get answer in Bytes: 175`000`000Bytes = 175`000KB = 175MB (rounding-off error assumed, as you should actually divide with 1024 instead 1000 - but for our purpose here it is insignificant). So 175MB per hour - to get 1.5hours, just multiply 175MB with 1.5 and you get ~262MB video size. Skype uses On2`s superefficient video codec techology - so it is probably the best video quality to bandwidth usage rate u may achieve.

If only one person is seeing the video,will it reduse download quoate of the other person?

These answers are just not right. We had a one hour video skype call and checked the usage meter before and after . An astonishing 5gb was used in the call. We are now going to check usage without the video element!

Skype and hughesnet I used sat internet for years then came hughesnet bought out starband. my advice to you is get an air card from the 3g network phone company nearest you. I get 5 gig (5000MB) / month for $60. and can use any amount of that in one day, Hughes restricts your daily bandwith use they divide how much you get per month by 30 days and thats all you can get each day. If you want to use more thatn that calculated amount in one day then they slow you way down to the point where you are slower then dial up. It was terrible. this could be why you are seeing messages or timing out on skype. I used it all the time with sat internet but as i said then came hughes net.

Boy that doesnt answer the question does it. ? (especially if you are bad at math ) 400 kb per second ( using the high end) X 60 seconds X 60 minutes =1.4 million kbs per hr. which equals just over 1 gb ??? Is that right.??? So if you have a 1gb a month usage = about 1 hr of Skype video usage??
