If you type your PIN in for the debit refund (such as at Target), the transaction happens in real-time. If you type your PIN in at any retailer for a purchase or a refund (a PIN Debit, not a Visa or Mastercard "signature" debit) and the transaction does not happen instantly, then there is a problem somewhere, because all PIN-based debit transactions are real-time. Example 1: I buy $50 of clothes at Target on a Friday. I use my debit card and type my PIN for the purchase...that $50 purchase shows up in my checking account instantly. The next day, I return a $10 shirt to Target because it does not fit. I swipe my card and type my PIN for my refund. The $10 refund shows up in my checking account instantly because it was a PIN based debit refund and all PIN based debit transactions happen instantly! If the merchant refunds your debit card using the Mastercard or Visa debit networks (ie you DO NOT type your PIN) then the merchant is required to credit the money within 5 business days after the refund was initiated. Even though your card is a debit card, if you did not complete the transaction using a PIN, and instead used the Visa or Mastercard debit networks, then your purchase and refunds must be processed as a Visa or Mastercard transaction. Visa and Mastercard transactions are not real-time transactions, as there is a "hold" and a "post" required to complete the transaction. Example 2: I buy $50 of clothes at Target on a Friday. I use my debit card to pay for my purchase, but I do not type my PIN in. I hit cancel, credit and signed for my purchase. My receipt says "Mastercard Charge, $50." The purchase shows up in my checking account as a pending purchase immediately. The next day, I return a $10 shirt to Target because it does not fit. Target gives me a receipt for my refund of $10. It says "Mastercard Credit, $10." I did not swipe my card or type my PIN. This transaction did not show up as a refund until Tuesday morning because it used the Mastercard Debit network instead of the PIN debit network.

Honestly this is my seventh week at Ashford and still no refund so your guess is just as good as mines. I have sent my advisor a ton of emails and she only explains the way the system works, not the day/date of my transaction, so goodluck because i know i need it as well

Mine too! It`s march 29th. They said it was scheduled for deposit on February 11th. I can`t get a real person on the phone!

In state of Illinois or any other state, it depends by which mean you have requested it. For instance if you have requested the tax refund check through mail, it should reach you within a couple of weeks. You can also check the status of your refund check through the website. It is always the best idea to be in touch with the department to know the position, as at certain times the process of tax refund takes time. "Ron_Joseph"

It can take anywhere from when you mail it to 16-20 weeks. they keep telling me 12-16 weeks. i have been waiting 7 weeks and counting.
