It is actually safer to walk in a flat bottom boat, with or without decks than it is to walk around in a curved or V bottom boat, because the buoyancy is greater with a flat bottom boat than it is with a V bottom, because it sits on top of the water versus a V bottom which sits down in the water, causing it to jive from side to side, sort of like a canoe and we all know not to walk around in a canoe.
